Technovation is an international technology competition exclusively available for girls. The aim of Technovation is to expand girls' interests in technology and business. This competition is unique because it combines entrepreneurship, engineering, and technology. Girls get the chance to work in teams of up to five to design, create, test, and market an app that solves issues. This year, girls are expected to create an app that addresses local problems found in their community. Technovation gives girls the opportunity to become leaders and take action to make their apps a reality. While having fun, girls will improve their team working, presentation and public speaking skills, and confidence in technology and business. Girls will compete from all over the world for the chance to become a finalist. Six teams from the high school division will get the chance to go to San Francisco to present their app to influential people in the industry. The grand prize team gets $10,000 to start up their app. On this blog, we'll track our progress of our first year in Technovation!
